The Hermitage

The HERMITAGE – one of the most known and huge museums of the world. The museum complex includes the seven buildings located on quay of Neva, the Palace area and Million street. The collection of the Hermitage totals more than three millions exhibits in 400 halls. That though a few to get acquainted with a collection, it is necessary to visit a museum not once or twice.

 

 

 

The STATE RUSSIAN MUSEUM


The STATE RUSSIAN MUSEUM – is placed in the buildings located in the historical center of St.-Petersburg. It Straganovskiy and Marble palaces, Mikhaylovskiy (Engineering) lock and the main building of a museum – Mikhaylovskiy palace with Benua’s case which is constructed in style of late classicism by architect Karlo Rossi for grand duke Michael Pavlovicha. Cabinet of curiosities


MUSEUM of ANTHROPOLOGY And ETHNOGRAPHY named after PETER the GREAT – Cabinet of curiosities – is the oldest state museum of Russia. It is created under the decree of emperor Peter I in 1714 and has served as the base created a little after St.-Petersburg (and then-Russian) to the Academy of sciences. In cabinet of curiosities there was an observatory first in Russia, a dissecting room and other establishments of the Academy of sciences. For the long time in this building worked great Russian scientist М.V. Lomonosov. In funds of a museum it is stored more than one million the exhibits telling about a life of nations of the world.

PETERGOF


PETERGOF – the state museum reserve “the center of Peterhof is the Big palace” from which the Big cascade (1715-1724) with 37 golden sculptures and 64 fountains begins. Before the central part of a palace – the survey platform, whence opens prospect of the cascade with the highest fountain – “Samson” behind which the channel leading to gulf of Finland begins. The biggest advantage of Peterhof is Bottom park with its avenues leading to verticals and volumes of fountains and palaces. In reserve 10 museums operate: the Big Peterhof palace, Monplezir, case of Ekaterina, the Gauze, the Hermitage, the Museum of family of Benua, the Cottage and case of Banniy, Grottoes of the Big Cascade and Gallery of Jewelry.

The Petropavlovskaya FORTRESS


The Petropavlovskaya FORTRESS – Petersburg from here began. First wooden, фортеция a bastion behind a bastion became stone, owing to architect Domeniko Trezini. About gloomy histories of prison it is possible to learn in Trubeckaya bastion. In the Engineering house of a fortress – an exhibition of subjects of a daily life of the townspeople till 1917. The mint in territory of a fortress still lets out anniversary coins.

IMPERIAL VILLAGE


City PUSHKIN – IMPERIAL VILLAGE – the state memorial estate, consists from Екатерининского a palace, Alexandrovskiy palace, the Memorial Museum-liceum, A.S. Pushkin’s Museum and a study of local lore museum of Pushkin. The architect creates an original masterpiece of architecture in style of a baroque. Inside of a palace the infinite suite golden rooms with elaborate baroque ornaments opens. An amber room (1709, a gift of Prussian king Fridriha Peter I) – one of rooms in a suite. Restoration disappeared somewhere in Kenigsberg has made rooms its symbol of the cultural values lost and stolen during the Second world war. In days of Ekaterina’s board Great to Ekaterinas palace Agate rooms on which ground floor there was a pool, and Kamerenov gallery for walks after bathing and an easy meal have been attached. Agate rooms are completely decorated by agate and from them the kind on lonely Top garden Ekaterinas opens. And from top platform of Kameromovsk gallery all park is visible, as on a palm. Here Ekaterina has constructed a palace for the favourite grandson, subsequently – emperor Alexander I, – Alexandroмылшн (Dzgakomo Kvarengi, 1792). This palace became a country residence of last Russian tsar – Nikolay II. In halls of a palace products of painting, schedules, arts and crafts, subjects of a suit and personal things of family of last emperor are now presented.
